"You Make the Hard Things Easier"

MADISON & MICHAEL WEDDING FILM

Some wedding days feel like they’re built out of pure joy. Michael & Madison’s was one of them — a warm summer celebration tucked into the bright glass walls and greenery of The Atrium in Solon Springs. A day filled with tears, belly laughs, inside jokes, and the kind of love that’s been strengthened by real-life challenges, long-distance chapters, and the kind of emotional courage you only find in two people who truly choose one another.

This is their story — told through the voices of the people who love them most.

From London Classmates to Soul Sisters

The day began with a speech that perfectly captured Madison: grounded, thoughtful, quietly luminous.

Maddie Drury — Madison’s matron of honor — stood in front of the crowd and reflected on the early days, back when she and Madison first met in a college class in London. A class that neither of them fully understood (one of those “why is this syllabus in another language?” semesters), but a class that introduced her to a “soul sister.”

She described Madison as infinitely precious, someone who loves deeply, cares fiercely, and chooses her people with intention. And when Michael entered the picture, it didn’t take long for her protective instincts to melt away.

Because as she said:
“The humor, support, and joy he brings to Maddie’s soul is more than I could ever ask for.”

Their friends see it. Their families see it. Their community sees it.
Madison & Michael’s love isn’t loud. It’s steady. It’s real. It’s rare.

A Story of Resilience, Adventures, and Choosing Each Other

One of the most heartfelt speeches came from someone delivering words on behalf of a very important friend — Eric — who couldn’t be at the wedding. What followed was a montage of childhood memories, hospital adventures, therapy sessions, and a life spent navigating the world in wheelchairs, often side-by-side.

There was the snowy day at Gillette Children’s Hospital where a flat tire sent the moms into full-blown crisis mode — only to end with a tow truck driver taking them to his house to fix it.
There were the years of racing at Courage Sports, horseback riding, and therapy sessions that turned into lifelong friendship.
There were crushes, speech therapists, costume-related holiday fears, and the hilarious chaos that only two kids with imaginations (and mobility devices) can create.

But then came August two years ago.

Michael had been talking to someone online — someone kind, someone funny, someone who made him light up in ways his friends instantly noticed. And then the secret got out:

Madison was flying to Duluth.

She showed up — warm, genuine, unshakable — and suddenly everything shifted.
Within weeks she had moved.
Within months, everyone knew:
This wasn’t just a relationship.
This was his person.

As the speech ended, the sentiment landed softly across the room:

“Life isn’t always easy, but it’s better when you have the love of someone special to ride the waves with you.”

A Friendship That Became Family

Next came Kyle — one of Michael’s groomsmen and longtime friends from Oregon. They bonded in 2016 during the “Text for Bernie” campaign, spending years talking politics, technology, Apple products, and medicine.

Kyle shared how Michael once built him a custom pollen-alert program because he has allergies.
(If that doesn’t tell you everything you need to know about who Michael is, nothing will.)

And he recalled the moment Michael slowly grew less available — something that first worried him… until the truth came out:

Michael wasn’t disappearing.
He was falling in love.

Soon, Kyle was chatting with both of them in late-night Telegram threads about tulip fields and Cold Stone. He watched their relationship unfold in real time — long distance, Zoom calls, Mario Kart battles, Oregon trips, Minnesota trips, and eventually, the quiet, steady shift in Michael’s health and happiness.

“He’s been happier and healthier since they fell in love.”
A line that brought the entire room to a warm hush.

A Duo With Sharp Wit and a VHS Collection

Then came Bianca and Andrew — a comedic duo who perfectly captured the humor, sharp wit, and shared chaos that make Michael & Madison who they are.

From obscure Scooby-Doo references…
to competitive Mario Party fights…
to 5,000 screenshots on a Nintendo Switch…
to the infamous “rage-induced Hot Pocket tirade”…

they painted a picture of a couple who laughs loudly and loves deeply.

A couple who bring out the best in each other.
A couple who root for one another’s passions.
A couple who genuinely enjoy being in each other’s orbit.

They joked that Madison must be extraordinary because she got Michael into the sunlight, and she patiently listened while he prepared for her first visit by reading wikiHow articles on long-distance relationships.

They ended with this perfect line:

“May the years ahead be sweet and satisfying as a warm Texas Roadhouse roll with honey butter.”

Iconic.

The Atrium: A Place Built for Big Love

The Atrium in Solon Springs couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for a day like this — natural light pouring through tall windows, lush greenery inside and out, and that warm Wisconsin summer air that makes everything feel a little more alive.

Their ceremony was intimate and tender.
Their reception was full of color, music, and joy.
And by the time the evening settled into golden light, you could feel it:

Everyone in the room was rooting for them.

Their Own Words

As the speeches wrapped and the music began, Madison stood up, glowing and overwhelmed with gratitude.

“Thank you so much for being here today. We are so glad to finally be married.”

Michael echoed that same gratitude with his signature sincerity:

“Thank you to everyone who came tonight to help us celebrate the beginning of our life as a married couple.”

A simple sentence that held so much weight.

Michael & Madison — A Love Held Up by Community

This wedding wasn’t just the joining of two people.
It was the joining of stories, histories, friendships, and chosen family.

A long-distance romance that became a new home.
Two lives that carried a lot of depth and complexity.
A partnership rooted in mutual care, humor, and devotion.
And a community that showed up with their whole hearts.

This is why I love what I do — capturing days where love feels big, real, layered, human.

Michael & Madison, thank you for letting me be a small part of such a tremendous day.
I’m stoked to have documented your story.

Here’s to the years ahead — may they be gentle, joyful, hilarious, and full of warm rolls with honey butter.
