Sustainable Wedding Practices

Sustainability has been making its way into our daily lives, and more couples have been trying to find ways to make their wedding day more eco-friendly. Think digital invites, using locally sourced flowers, and ditching single-use plastics, to name a few!

And it’s super cute! Here are some of my fav photos from Rachel + Ryan’s outdoor wedding at Sitio Events near Duluth, MN:

Non-traditional Wedding Attire

Who said you have to wear white on your wedding day? Non-traditional wedding attire is having a huge moment! Off-white dresses, blush pinks, something more colorful, and even two-piece dresses are looking to be all the rage.

While all those 2024 wedding dress trends are so much fun, at the end of the day – you should choose the wedding outfit that feels true to you and allows you to feel your most beautiful, confident self!

And if you’re looking for more tips on finding the perfect wedding dress, I’ve written a blog to help you! Check it out here!

Colorful Wedding

Not only is the wedding attire getting more colorful, but so are weddings in general! Gone are the days of strict pastels and neutrals. Couples are embracing bold and bright color schemes for their big day, making their day more unique and personalized! Think colorful décor, flower arrangements, stationary, as well as mismatched bridesmaids’ dresses!

Keeping it Small

Instead of grand celebrations, many couples opt for intimate weddings and elopements, with only their closest friends and family present. Smaller weddings and elopements often mean less stress and expenses for the couple and allow them to be more present on their big day.

Destination Weddings and Elopements

With the easing of travel restrictions, destination weddings and elopements are BACK! Whether it’s a mountain top, a tropical beach, or a winery wedding in the South of France, couples pack their bags and bring their loved ones on an unforgettable trip!

Fun-Tech Integrations

There are many fun and meaningful ways to include technology on your wedding day! From digital invitations and sweet wedding websites to live-streaming their wedding ceremonies so that even loved ones unable to attend can be right there in the moment, weddings in 2024 are blending tradition with the digital age.

On-The-Day Content Creators

This 2024 wedding trend is really making waves in the wedding world! Social media creators are being hired to capture all those spontaneous, candid moments, from the laughs to the tears, creating engaging content for TikTok, reels, and more. This way, you and your squad can be totally present, soak in every moment, and have an unplugged wedding day.

Timeless Elegance

While trends come and go, timeless elegance is evergreen! It allows you to look back at your photos and memories and still love the look and feel of your wedding day for years to come. Some styles and themes are always ‘IN’!

While it’s so fun to dive into the latest 2024 wedding trends, remember that your wedding day is all about you and your partner celebrating your unique love story. A thing to note is that trends might vary by location and culture, so if you’d like to add some trends for your big day, do your research and perhaps have a chat with a local wedding planner!
