Patience, Pinots, and a Promise

Rachel + Grant Wedding Film

Some weddings feel like they’ve been years in the making—stitched together by families who already love each other, friends who’ve known you your entire life, and the quiet rituals that make everyday life sacred. Rachel and Grant’s day was exactly that: a mix of patience, faith, and a dance floor that didn’t quit.

Before the aisle, they had a moment that felt like pure real life: “Hi.” “Hi.” A laugh about poofy sleeves. A little bit of tears. A reminder to take it all in.

Sunlight poured through the windows of the Church of the Assumption, as Rachel vowed to cheer for Grant in softball and in life, to let him sleep in on rainy Sundays (witnesses heard it), and to be wife, mother, and best friend for all her days. Grant promised that if it’s Rachel, everything matters—from the chores to the big choices—and at the same time, nothing else matters but her happiness, their faith, and their family.

Stories, sisters, and Cowboy Jack’s

Rachel’s dad, Bruce, kicked things off with a toast on patience—waiting through colic, outfit changes, and even softball games—and then delivered the line everyone felt: “The waiting is over. You are husband and wife.”

The best man, Derek, took us back through Grant’s “Cheese” nickname, MrPastaBoy@ AOL days, and a four-year plan to teach him how to talk to girls. He knew Rachel was the real deal when she held her own watching a Wild game at Cowboy Jack’s.

Rachel’s sisters brought the heart—Sammy calling Grant a golden retriever of a human, Liz reading saved texts like the Teacher Appreciation card that said, “you are my best day.” Then Liz asked everyone to make a little human connection—hand to shoulder, arm-in-arm—so the whole room could feel what it’s like to have a Rachel in your life: safe, seen, and loved.

A bouquet for Mom + the party that didn’t stop

Instead of tossing her bouquet, Rachel handed it to her mom—the woman who knew every flower, every linen, every crease.

From there, it was dessert, table strike, and a full-throttle band-led dance floor. Wexford glowed, the Riverside Hitmen kept the party going, Kenzie ran the show, Rachel (photographer) captured it all, and the families celebrated like they’d been one all along.

Grab a Pinot Grigio (Grant’s go-to) or a coffee (Rachel’s forehead-kiss moment). Sit close. Watch how he says, “everything matters and nothing matters.” Watch how her shoulders drop when he takes her hand. Listen for the gasps and the laughter. Then hit replay.

Whether you’re envisioning a timeless celebration in the greater metro of Minneapolis-St. Paul, a lakeside gathering on the North Shore, or a destination wedding that feels like a true adventure, your story deserves to be told with artistry and heart.

Rachel + Grant’s day at Wexford was proof that no two weddings are ever the same—their vows, their people, their laughter made it uniquely theirs. Capturing those moments is what we live for. Here’s to their forever, and to the beginning of yours.
