As I sit down to write this blog post, I can't help but smile as I recall the magical day I spent capturing a dreamy riverfront wedding in St. Paul, Minnesota. The picturesque Intercontinental Hotel provided the perfect backdrop for this fairytale affair, and I couldn't have been more excited to be the wedding filmmaker tasked with preserving these precious memories for Ellie and Zach

As soon as I arrived at the venue, I could sense the excitement and joy in the air. The bride and groom had chosen this location for its breathtaking views of the Mississippi River, creating a picturesque backdrop for their special day.

The Intercontinental Hotel itself was a stunning venue, with its elegant architecture and impeccable grounds. The wedding ceremony took place outdoors, right by the river's edge. The gentle breeze rustling through the trees and the sound of the flowing water added an enchanting touch to the ambiance.

The challenges of filming a wedding can be numerous, but they are also part of what makes this craft so exhilarating! For example, managing the lighting conditions can be quite tricky, particularly in a venue as grand as the Intercontinental Hotel. However, I quickly adapted to the changing light and made use of my additional lighting equipment to ensure that each shot was perfectly exposed.

Oh and of course as a wedding filmmaker, you know I’m a sucker for some private vows and I made sure to capture every precious moment of their vows, their hearts pumping, and feeling the embrace of their soon to be spouse. It was a joy to witness the deep connection between Ellie and Zach and their loved ones, encapsulating the true essence of this celebration.

After the ceremony, we took advantage of the riverfront setting to capture stunning portraits of the newlyweds. The natural beauty of the surroundings provided the perfect backdrop, and the couple's love for each other shone through in every frame.

As the sun began to set, we moved inside the Intercontinental Hotel to continue the festivities. The reception décor was elegant and dreamy, with soft lighting and delicate floral arrangements.
